The Forty-niner’s
The Forty-niners were mostly men who abandoned their families,
jobs, and current way of life to travel to California in hopes to get rich on
gold and improve their way of life. They traveled by land and by sea. The trip
was very long and dangerous. The forty-niners had to spend a lot of money just
on the trip, which put them in dept. The trip was so dangerous that some even died.
